Joseph F.X. Zahra
Joseph F.X. Zahra is a Malta based economist with over thirty-five years of corporate leadership and business consultancy experience.
In 1983, Joe co-founded MISCO, an independent consultancy operating in Malta and Cyprus. He held a number of public appointments including that of chairman of Bank of Valletta plc and Middlesea Insurance plc. He was responsible for the implementation project for the euro changeover in Malta, and first chairman of the National Council for Higher Education and the Malta Council for the Arts.
He has been a visiting lecturer in micro and managerial economics in universities in Malta and Italy. He has been invited as key speaker in various conferences in Europe and North America. Since 2013 he has been the key expert at the Vatican on administrative and economic reforms.
In 2017, Joe co-founded SurgeAdvisory, a dedicated corporate consultancy firm, focusing on aspects related to human resources, leadership development, family businesses, remuneration and reward, corporate governance and transformation management.
