SurgeAdvisory Managing Director and HR Advisor, Maria Bartolo Zahra, together with Nicole Caruana, Founding Partner and Neuroscientist at Massivemind, delivered a workshop at the Annual FHRD HR conference.
Earlier this year, SurgeAdvisory and Massivemind teamed up to provide the latest in HR technology with Boomerang, a unique real-time engagement evaluation platform.
The workshop, titled ‘Big Data: The Next Playground for HR’, discussed how big data and people analytics are transforming the way HR does things. Businesses have seen a fundamental shift in how HR works. Big data, the functions of which have revolutionized marketing and finance, is now revolutionising HR. Maria and Nicole explained that, while there is nothing inherently wrong with using traditional methods to collect HR data, these methods have their own shortcomings. They then discussed how understanding and implanting big data, through the use of new technologies, is helping businesses take fact-based decisions.
The workshop also focused on simplifying the complexities of ‘big data’ and ‘HR analytics’ by explaining a step-by-step approach for businesses to become more data-driven.
