Remote working is growing in popularity. Many employers are considering introducing remote working policies within their organisation but are hesitant in doing so. I’ve already written about how flexible working options are not for every business, but if it is for you, then changes may be required.
A few weeks ago, I wrote about the flexibility trend – a trend that is here to stay. I am now focusing more on one of the workplace flexibility options: working remotely.
As the importance of HR increased within organisations, many HR professionals became the HR Department of One. This means that the HR function of organisations is managed entirely by one person.
The purpose of an organisation chart is to show what the relationship of one job is to another. It is also shows the hierarchy – the ranks of job positions – within the organisation.
It has happened to most of us – disgruntled, demotivated employees come up to us complaining that they are being paid below the average market rates.
Unfortunately, in many instances and in various work places, human resources (HR) is not given the due importance and attention it deserves.
Most companies start, grow and die in a two-act play. During the first act, the entrepreneurial drive of the founders champions the company’s launch of the business idea and pushes up its growth through a strenuous but engaging period of development.
Is it better to be in a family business? I ask the question to provoke some thinking.
